Aerial Exterior Cleaning & Applications

Before we clean it, we understand it.

Commercial facade and glass cleaning at height. Every job starts with an assessment of the building — from the air where site, airspace and operating conditions allow. Aerial application can reduce reliance on lifts, scaffolding or rope access on suitable facades.

  • No-charge assessment · standard properties
  • Aerial + ground crew
  • Written scope by elevation

The problem

Buildings don’t stay clean — least of all where they’re hardest to reach.

  1. Atmospheric grime

A film of dust, pollen and pollution that dulls glass and panels.

  2. Spotting on glass

Mineral spots and film left by rain and irrigation.

  3. Run-off streaks

Dirt carried down from sills, mullions and parapets.

  4. Organic growth

Algae, mildew and lichen where surfaces stay damp.

How AQUA works

From the first look to the next visit.

AQUA runs on the same aerial capture discipline as Vexonix AEG. So a job starts with the building, not the wash — and it can end with a record you keep.

Vexonix AQUA — Aerial Exterior Cleaning & ApplicationsVexonix AEG — Aerial Engineering & Geomatics

Cleaning by AQUA. Assessment and records built on AEG capture.

  1. No charge · standard properties

    Assess

An assessment of the building — from the air where site, airspace and operating conditions allow, with photos or a site walk where needed — maps the facade and glass areas, elevations, visible soiling, access limits, obstructions and site conditions.

  2. Scope

You receive a written AQUA proposal built on what the assessment found: what needs cleaning, how much, where, the method and equipment, what’s excluded — and the price.

  3. Optional · priced separately

    Document

Want a record you keep? Vexonix AEG can turn the building into an existing-condition package. It’s quoted separately, and your estimate doesn’t depend on it.

  4. Every job

    Verify conditions

Buildings change between an estimate and a job date. Before work starts, the crew checks the building against the assessment. If the condition, soiling, access or affected area has materially changed, we show you what changed, and the scope is reviewed and agreed with you before any work begins.

  5. Clean

The approved scope, delivered zone by zone — aerial application where the building suits it, a ground crew where it doesn’t, inside a controlled work area.

  6. Verify the result

Completion images show the finished condition, elevation by elevation. Before, work, result — on file for you and for us.

  7. Ongoing

    Maintain

Repeat assessments, scheduled cleaning and condition comparisons turn a one-time wash into a maintenance plan for the building.

Assessment & documentation

The assessment prices the job. The record is yours to keep.

Two different things, often confused. Here’s what’s included, and what’s optional.

Vexonix AQUA — Aerial Exterior Cleaning & Applications

No charge · standard properties

AQUA assessment & estimate

We use the assessment to understand the building and price the cleaning properly. It’s our working material for your proposal — not a documentation package.

For standard properties within our normal service area, the AQUA assessment and estimate are provided at no charge. Unusually large, remote or complex properties may require separate assessment arrangements, which are confirmed in advance.

What the assessment looks at

  • Building & surfaces Storeys, elevations in scope, materials, glass type, balconies, overhangs and visible pre-existing damage.
  • Contamination What needs removing, how heavy it is, and whether a test patch is needed first.
  • Airspace & hazards Airspace status, power lines, trees, rooftop equipment, cranes and neighbouring buildings.
  • People & traffic Sidewalks, entrances, parking, patios and the best work window — plus tenant or resident notice.
  • Water & result Tap locations and pressure, the result you’re after, and whether purified water is needed.
  • Runoff & drainage Storm drains, catch basins and landscaping to protect, and any owner or municipal requirements.
  • Staging Vehicle and equipment staging, launch and landing space, and any permit needs.
  • Method split Aerial zones, ground zones and exclusions marked by elevation — the basis of your written scope.

What you receive

A written AQUA proposal: scope by elevation, method (aerial, ground or both), inclusions, exclusions and price.

Vexonix AEG — Aerial Engineering & Geomatics

Optional · priced separately

AEG existing-condition record

A documentation package produced by Vexonix AEG and delivered to you — useful long after the cleaning is done.

Can include, where appropriate

  • Aerial imagery of the elevations in scope
  • Mapped facade, roof and site areas
  • Elevation-by-elevation condition documentation
  • Measurements taken from the capture
  • Orthomosaic or 3D records where the site suits them
  • A dated visual baseline for later comparison

Useful for

  • Facility management
  • Maintenance planning
  • Budgeting
  • Ownership records
  • Pre-work condition reference
  • Future comparison

A visual documentation product. It is not an engineering inspection, a certification, a building-envelope assessment or a legal survey, and no accuracy is stated unless one is agreed in writing.

Need a number sooner? Send two or three photos and we can usually return a budget figure to plan with. The firm estimate follows the assessment.

On the day

Aerial reach. Ground detail. Planned support.

One building can need more than one method. We define the zones, support requirements and exclusions before work begins.

  1. Illustration: a hose-fed cleaning drone beside commercial glass with a ground support area
    Illustration · aerial application

Aerial application where the facade fits.

Open facade areas can suit drone-assisted application. Airspace, wind, obstructions and a controlled exclusion zone determine what can be included in the scope.

  2. Illustration: a ground crew member washing a commercial exterior within a marked work area
    Illustration · ground-supported cleaning

Ground methods for access and detail.

Lower glass, entrances, recessed areas and bonded contamination may need water-fed poles, low-pressure washing or hand detailing. Areas that cannot be reached are identified as exclusions.

  3. Illustration: water and hose support equipment inside a service trailer
    Illustration · support setup concept

Water and runoff planned with the site.

Supply, water quality, product choice and drainage are reviewed during assessment. The method follows the agreed surface and result; pictured components do not specify the equipment included in a job.

Separate generated illustrations explain the approach. They are not a completed job, a before-and-after comparison or photographs of installed equipment.

Why AQUA

What changes when you call AQUA.

The drone is a delivery method. The product is a clean building — scoped from the real facade, with less work at height where the building suits it.

  • Scoped from the real building

The assessment defines areas, elevations and conditions before a price is set — so the scope matches the building.

  • Less work from lifts and ropes

Aerial application can reduce reliance on lifts, scaffolding or rope access on suitable facades. The assessment shows where.

  • One contractor for the whole exterior

Aerial application where it fits, a ground crew for the rest — one scope, one crew and one price for the building.

  • A scope you can take to a board

Method, inclusions and exclusions by elevation, in writing, before any work is booked.

  • Planned around people

Marked exclusion zones, scheduled work windows and support for tenant or resident notices.

  • Proof on file

Completion images on every job. Add an AEG existing-condition record if you want a baseline to compare against.

Project records

AQUA is a new division, so we don’t show stock photos or staged “results”. Documented before-and-after records will appear here as jobs are completed, with client consent. Want to see the result on your building first? Ask for a test area or a single elevation.

Ask about a test area

Aerial + ground service delivery

One crew. Two systems. The whole building.

AQUA isn’t sold as “drone cleaning.” Every building is split into zones, and each zone gets the method that suits it — aerial where the facade suits it, ground crew where that’s better — so a part the drone can’t do never stops the job.

Schematic building elevation showing which zones are cleaned from the air, by a hose-fed aircraft supplied from the AQUA support trailer on the ground, and which from the ground
  1. Mid and upper storeys, open facadeAerialDrone-assisted application, subject to airspace, wind, obstructions and a controlled exclusion zone.
  2. Roof edges, parapets and signageAerial or groundAssessed case by case, depending on access.
  3. Obstructed or recessed areasGround or excludedBalconies, deep overhangs and courtyards are handled from the ground or listed as exclusions.
  4. Lower storeys within pole reachGroundWater-fed pole, with purified water on glass where the result needs it.
  5. Ground floor, storefronts and entrancesGroundHighest public exposure — the ground crew controls this zone.

Where aerial application fits

  • Large, relatively flat facades with clear airspace in front of them
  • Upper storeys beyond practical water-fed pole reach
  • Sites where pedestrian and vehicle traffic can be controlled or scheduled around
  • Light-to-moderate soiling: dust, grime, pollen and light organic growth
  • Soft-wash applications where dwell time does the work

Where ground methods are better

  • Ground-floor storefronts, entrances, canopies and lower storeys
  • Heavy, bonded contamination that needs agitation or hand detailing
  • Recessed balconies, deep overhangs and courtyards
  • Sites near power lines, heavy tree canopy, active cranes or rooftop obstructions
  • Busy public areas that can’t be closed
  • Detail work on glass where a hand-finished result is expected

We use the drone where it makes sense and ground equipment where it doesn’t. You get one scope, one crew and one price for the whole building.

Maintain

From a one-time wash to a maintained building.

The first assessment becomes the baseline. Every visit after it is planned — and recorded — against it.

  • Scheduled cleaning

Spring and fall, quarterly, or around your operating calendar — scoped once, repeated consistently.

  • Conditions checked every visit

Each visit starts with a check against the last record, so changes are caught before work begins.

  • Condition comparisons

Optional AEG records, captured the same way each time, show how the building changes between visits.

  • One record per building

Completion images and records build into one file you can hand to owners, boards and budget planners.

Water, products & runoff

Planned before a drop hits the building.

Water only where possible

Many buildings need nothing more than water. When a solution is needed, it’s chosen for the surface and the site.

You choose the result — we choose the method

You decide what you’re buying: a general clean, organic-growth reduction or a low-residue glass finish. Vexonix selects the water quality, product, dilution and pressure that are safe for your surfaces, and won’t use a method it considers unsuitable.

Drains and landscaping identified up front

Storm drains, catch basins and planting are identified during assessment. If the site or city requires it, drain protection or containment is added to the scope and the price.

Safety & site operations

People first, building second, schedule third.

AQUA runs on the same flight-operations framework as every Vexonix division — plus the ground-level planning a building needs when it stays open.

Read about Vexonix flight operations and compliance →

  • Exclusion zones

A marked exclusion zone below the work area, set up before any aerial work begins.

  • Scheduled around people

Early mornings, weekends or closed zones. If an area can’t be controlled, we don’t fly over it.

  • Airspace and weather checks

Airspace status is confirmed during assessment; work is planned around wind and weather on the day.

  • Surface-first method

Low-pressure application on glass, test areas on sensitive or older surfaces, and pre-existing issues photographed before we start.

Standard exclusions — always stated in your proposal

  • Interior glass and interior surfaces
  • Paint, graffiti, efflorescence, hard-water etching or permanent staining — unless specifically scoped
  • Repair of pre-existing damage, failed seals, loose caulking or deteriorated finishes
  • Areas neither aerial nor ground systems can reach (listed by elevation in your proposal)
  • Balconies and private terraces unless specifically scoped and residents notified
  • Lift, swing-stage or rope access by others
  • Permits and road or sidewalk occupancy fees unless stated in pricing

FAQ

Questions property and facility teams ask.

Isn’t drone cleaning risky?

It’s a fair question, and it’s why every AQUA job starts with a site assessment. We plan the flight area, set up an exclusion zone, check airspace and weather, and use ground equipment wherever the drone isn’t the right tool. We can share the site safety plan with the proposal.

Do you only clean with drones?

No. AQUA is one crew with two systems. Aerial application handles suitable upper and hard-to-reach areas; water-fed poles, low-pressure and soft-wash equipment and hand detailing handle entrances, storefronts, lower storeys and detail work. You get one scope for the whole building.

Why wouldn’t we just use a lift or rope access?

On some buildings, a lift or rope access is the right tool — and we’ll tell you so. On others, lift placement is limited by landscaping, parking, soft ground or narrow lanes, or the setup is disproportionate to the work — and aerial application can reduce reliance on lifts, scaffolding or rope access on suitable facades. The assessment tells you which method fits each part of your building.

We already have a window-cleaning company. Why talk to you?

Most buildings do. We often handle the areas that are harder or more expensive to reach, or provide a comparison price at renewal — for example, a separate price for the upper facade.

How is pricing worked out?

Every job is priced per project after the assessment, based on the cleanable area by elevation, surfaces, access, water and site conditions. For standard properties within our normal service area, the assessment and estimate are provided at no charge; unusually large, remote or complex properties may need separate assessment arrangements, confirmed in advance. Send photos or drawings and we can usually give you a budget number to plan with first.

What’s the difference between the assessment and AEG documentation?

The AQUA assessment is how we understand the building and price the cleaning. For standard properties within our normal service area it comes with your estimate at no charge, and it isn’t delivered as documentation. AEG documentation is a separate, optional purchase: an existing-condition record of the building — imagery, mapped areas and elevation documentation, with orthomosaic or 3D where suitable — that you keep for maintenance planning, budgeting and future comparison.

What if the building has changed by the time you arrive?

Before work starts, the crew checks the building against what the assessment recorded. If the condition, soiling, access or affected area is materially different, we’ll show you what changed, and the scope and price are reviewed and agreed with you before work begins. The original assessment is the reference for what was first observed.

Has AQUA done this before?

Drone-assisted exterior cleaning is used commercially in several markets. AQUA is a new division of Vexonix Corp and we’re building our project record now — so we’re happy to start with a test area or a single elevation so you can see the result first.

What happens around pedestrians and tenants?

We set up a marked exclusion zone below the work area and schedule around foot traffic — often early mornings or weekends. Entrances are handled by the ground crew or worked when closed. If an area can’t be controlled, we don’t fly over it. We can help with tenant or resident notices.

What about water runoff and cleaning products?

Drains and landscaping are identified during the assessment. We use water only where possible; when a solution is needed, it’s chosen for the surface. If the site or city requires drain protection or containment, it’s included in the scope and price.

Can cleaning damage glass or older surfaces?

We use low-pressure application on glass and test first on sensitive or older surfaces. Pre-existing issues — failed seals, scratches, loose caulking — are photographed and noted before work starts.

Can you clean every part of the building?

Not always with the drone alone, which is why we bring ground equipment too. Your proposal lists exactly what’s included and what isn’t, by elevation. Anything that can’t be reached safely is listed as an exclusion — no surprises.

Can we choose the cleaning product or its strength?

You choose the result — for example, organic-growth reduction or degreasing. We choose the product, dilution, pressure and method that are safe and suitable for your surfaces, and test first where needed.

Can we set up a recurring program?

Yes. Many buildings suit a spring-and-fall or quarterly program. The first assessment becomes the baseline, each visit is checked against it before work starts, and optional AEG records can compare the building’s condition over time.

Is the optional AEG documentation an inspection or a survey?

No. It’s a visual documentation product — an existing-condition record of the building for owners, boards or maintenance files. Unless separately contracted, it is not a survey, an engineering or architectural certification, a building-envelope inspection or a warranty of building condition.
